Partner Erin Morton is the Executive Director of the Coalition for Health Funding (CHF).
In 2009, CRD Associates began managing the Coalition for Health Funding, an alliance of organizations devoted to robust funding levels for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other discretionary health programs within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Since that time, the Coalition’s membership has more than doubled and membership dues revenue has more than quadrupled. The Coalition for Health Funding now includes roughly 85-member health organizations representing more than 100 million patients and consumers, health providers, professionals, and researchers, and has become the most active and prominent voice in Washington advocating for programs that protect Americans’ health. The Coalition also manages the Public Health Caucus, a Congressionally recognized bipartisan caucus of members who support public health and public health agencies. CRD Associates also manages the creation of the flagship daily Member Update, keeping members apprised of important developments on Capitol Hill. Finally, CRD Associates consistently organizes events through CHF that have become Capitol Hill mainstays, attracting Members of Congress and hundreds of Congressional staff.
The Coalition has launched several successful advocacy campaigns, including the NDD United campaign to stop sequestration and raise the Budget Control Act spending caps—named one of the Top 10 Lobbying Victories of 2013 by The Hill—and advocacy efforts to secure billions of dollars in emergency supplemental funding to combat the COVID-19 epidemic.
