CRD Associates Vice President Katie Schubert and Partner Nick Cavarocchi were recently published in Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The article, titled “The value of advocacy in obstetrics and maternal–fetal medicine,” argues that advocacy should be an integral part of any health care professional society’s mission. Using the Guiding Principles of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, (www.smfm.org) a client of CRD’s, Schubert and Cavarocchi explain several policy areas in which professional organizations are able to effect change, including research, reimbursement and quality. The creation of such guiding principles and advocacy strategies is a service that CRD provides, working closely with individual clients to create a robust agenda that achieves their specific policy goals.
