It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we learned of the death on February 11 of our good friend and colleague, Joyce Briscoe, after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer.
Those of you who worked with Joyce in a professional capacity know how determined and conscientious she was. The causes she fought for weren’t simply issues to Joyce. They were the faith and promise that those whose lives were improved would enrich us all—as she did in her 31 years at CRD Associates.
Those of us who were Joyce’s co-workers saw another side.
She never allowed her own struggles to keep her from lending a thoughtful ear to our problems. She encouraged us in our weakness, quieted our fears and gave us hope when ours was lacking. And when we forgot, she reminded us who we really are. Like any good friend, she brought out our better angels.
Joyce held deep spiritual beliefs so we can think of no better way to remember her than with the following verse from Isaiah 30:15.
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Joyce’s husband, Jimmy, her mother, her sons, her grandchildren and the rest of her family. We will miss her deeply.
From her loving friends at CRD Associates.
