CRD Vice President Katie Schubert co-authored a paper published in the January edition of Obstetrics & Gynecology as part of Dr. Rebekah Gee’s Health Policy in Practice series. The paper, written with Dr. Rebekah Gee and Dr. Susan Wood is titled, “Women’s Health, Pregnancy and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration,” and explores the history of FDA regulations with respect to women’s health and calls for additional policies geared toward drug and therapeutic trials in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Dr. Gee is an Assistant Professor of Public Health and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University and the state’s Medicaid Medical Director. Dr. Wood is Associate Professor of Health Policy and Environmental and Occupational Health the George Washington University’s School of Public Health as well as Executive Director of the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health. Dr. Wood previously served as Director for Policy and Program Development at the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health. Katie was suggested as a co-author to Dr. Gee by her client the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine’s Health Policy Committee.
