Stefanie Rinehart has 10 years of experience working on federal health policy, including working with Congress and administration. On behalf of physician groups, advocacy groups, and non-profit organizations, Stefanie works to advance effective public policy solutions. On the legislative side, she has experience working on federal policy addressing both The Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including authorizing legislation, appropriations bills, and policy implementation. On the regulatory side, she works to advance her client’s priorities with a variety of agencies, including the FDA, CDC, CMS, HRSA, NIH, and USDA.
Before joining CRD Associates, Stefanie worked at the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she focused on advocating for the availability of quality health care services, as well as reimbursement for health care providers. She worked with CMS on coverage and reimbursement for medical nutrition therapy, as well as the implementation of the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program. She also worked with CMS and Capitol Hill to increase utilization of diabetes self-management programs. Prior to the Academy, Stefanie analyzed state and federal health legislation and provided technical assistance to federal grantees at the MayaTech Corporation in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Outside of work, Stefanie loves to explore historical sites by foot or water taxi with her husband and daughter. She also provides pro bono legal aid to asylum seekers with her church’s immigration clinic.
