Sophia Jeon brings 10 years of experience in government affairs and health policy.  Utilizing her knowledge in federal appropriations, legislative and policymaking processes, and policy issues that impact the researcher, physician, caregiver, and patient communities, she works collaboratively with her clients to support their policy and advocacy goals.

Before joining CRD Associates in 2025, Sophia spent over 10 years at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  Following her post-doctoral research fellowship in ocular immunology at the National Eye Institute, she made a career change to work as a health science policy analyst at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and, more recently, at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).  In these roles, she tracked, analyzed, and communicated research policies, programs, and funding related to various diseases such as Alzheimer’s and related dementias, chronic fatigue syndrome, ALS, and diabetes, as well as liaised with Congressional offices and federal government agencies at the Department of Health and Human Services.

Sophia earned a B.S. in Life Science from Ewha Womans University and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Sophia enjoys long distance running, creating art, reading, and traveling with her loved ones when she can.  She lives in Washington D.C. with her husband, two sons, and their cat.
