Nicholas G. Cavarocchi founded CRD Associates in 1980, and for more than 30 years, drew on a diverse background in the public and private sectors to lend clients both a planner’s and a tactician’s approach to problem-solving. Nick’s advice and guidance was critical in helping corporations, trade associations and non-profit organizations advance policy change in Congress and through federal agencies. His many accomplishments include organizing an industry-patient coalition that led to the creation of a major research institute at the National Institutes of Health, and mounting a successful effort to modify Medicare physician and hospital reimbursement for surgical procedures.
Prior to founding CRD Associates, Nick served as senior health advisor to the House Appropriations Committee, where he helped guide federal funding for NIH, community health centers, health professions training, and occupational health. He also held senior management and budget positions in the U.S. Public Health Service. His private sector experience includes: appointment to the Department of Community Medicine at Georgetown University Medical School; Executive Vice President of the Georgetown University Community Health Plan, Inc.; and Associate Executive Director of Group Health Association, Inc. He also served as Chair of the federally-sponsored Consolidated Technical Assistance Project, a marketing and financial management project that assisted developing HMOs.
