Nicholas L. Cavarocchi, Vice President

Nicholas L. Cavarocchi has been a legislative analyst with CRD Associates for more than twenty years. Among his responsibilities are:

  • drafting reports;

  • analyzing legislation and congressional hearings;

  • preparing oral and written testimony to be presented before congressional committees; and

  • the direct lobbying of Senate and House staff members on behalf of clients.

He is currently lobbying on behalf of Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, a hospital that has been internationally recognized as a leader in clinical and research programs focusing on childhood deafness, visual impairment and related communication disorders.  They have developed national medical programs that are now instituted in hospitals and clinics across the country.

Boys Town is currently focused on research efforts to resolve problems such as:

  • the overmedication of children with psychotropic drugs;

  • tinnitus(ringing in the ears); and

  • noise induced hearing loss.

Nick also lobbies on behalf of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR), a non-profit organization that consists of individual scientists and students in the United States as well as biomedical research institutions.  Its primary mission is to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health.  Nick assists AADR in their efforts to enhance National Institutes of Health (NIH) supported research that could be brought to the fore of patient care with increased investment.  These include:

  • eliminating oral health disparities;

  • preventing dental caries (tooth decay); and

  • early detection of oral cancer

Over the last decade, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) has supported measures known as salivary diagnostics that draw and analyze saliva to test for conditions such as caries, periodontitis, and oral cancer.  Through the work and support of NIDCR, these diagnostics are showing great promise in screening for diabetes, heart disease, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer.

Prior to joining CRD Associates, Nick was the morning news announcer on WBOB-AM radio in southwest Virginia. Nick received his B.A. in Communications from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
