Karl J. Van Deusen, has been a Senior Vice President at Cavarocchi-Ruscio-Dennis (CRD) Associates since 2012. Areas of particular client interest include maritime sensors and networks, shipbuilding and maintenance, overseas and U.S. military bases, defense health, renewable energies and energy efficient technologies, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

Mr. Van Deusen retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years, finishing his military service as Director of the Department of the Navy liaison efforts with Capitol Hill on appropriation matters. In that capacity he was the personal advisor to both the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations. Mr. Van Deusen also served as Military Legislative Fellow to Representative C.W. Bill Young (R-FL), and was his Legislative Fellow to the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee. Operational assignments included command of an overseas destroyer squadron and a guided missile destroyer.

Mr. Van Deusen earned a B.A. in History from Marquette University and has M.A. degrees from both the Naval Postgraduate School and the Naval War College, where he was the Honor Graduate.
