Coalition for Health Funding Executive Director

CRD Associates, a collaborative, majority women-owned, government relations consulting firm based in Washington, DC, is seeking an individual to serve as Executive Director of the Coalition for Health Funding (CHF) and Vice President. Housed at the firm, CHF is an alliance of 86 nonprofit organizations working to promote strong investments in public health. It is the oldest and largest nonprofit alliance dedicated to sustained public health funding to strengthen overall public health infrastructure.

We are searching for a candidate to fill the role of executive director for the Coalition in addition to supporting other health focused clients of the firm in the role of Vice President. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of relevant experience on Capitol Hill, in a federal agency, and/or at a health focused advocacy organization or coalition. The candidate should be creative, outgoing, collegial, a self-starter, and ready to think outside the box about new solutions to everyday challenges. The applicant must have experience actively working with or managing coalitions and Boards and have a strong background and understanding of budget and appropriations and relationships with key Congressional offices and leadership. A strong candidate for the CHF Executive Director role is a strategic and visionary leader with a proven track record in developing and implementing strategies and a passion for health funding!

Responsibilities of the CHF Executive Director include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement new strategies to advance Coalition goals and objectives, including fundraising if necessary
  • Manage coalition staff to effectively execute all coalition programming
  • Draft, review, and sign off on coalition communications including a daily member newsletter
  • Be a leading voice on Capitol Hill, with the media, and in policymaking circles to advance coalition priorities
  • Position CHF for membership growth and retention through programming, materials development and member engagement opportunities
  • Work in collaboration with the Coalition’s Board of Directors; manage and prepare for all Board meetings and assume all responsibilities typically designated to a Board secretary
  • Serve as chief administrative officer responsible for management of the Coalition’s finances and business including singing all contracts authorized by the Board
  • Manage Coalition recordkeeping including tax and lobbying forms
  • Remain in regular communication with CRD Partners regarding CHF business and activities

 Responsibilities of the Vice President at CRD Associates include but are not limited to:

  • Strategize with Senior Vice Presidents and Partners on client direction
  • Engage with clients directly in emails, conference calls, and meetings on a regular basis
  • Attend meetings on the Hill and at federal agencies on behalf of multiple clients
  • Attend Congressional hearings & markups, Administration meetings, and other events
  • Brief clients on research and events and draft summaries as requested
  • Plan and organize Capitol Hill Days, briefings, and other events for clients and prepare materials
  • Conduct research on, and monitor, policy issues, legislation, regulatory matters, grants opportunities, and Administration rulemaking
  • Draft agency comment letters, policy briefs, legislation, and one-pagers for policymakers
  • Monitor relevant legislative and federal regulatory activity and developments and share information with clients as relevant

Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000 annually based on experience.
