Mark D. Vieth, Senior Vice President

 

Mark D. Vieth Image Mark D. Vieth joined the firm in 2002 and manages a diverse portfolio of clients with interests in transportation, health care, education and workforce training, and intellectual property. Prior to joining CRD Associates, Mark served for 14 years as a professional staff member in the House of Representatives.  As chief of staff for Congressman Robert A. Borski of Pennsylvania, Mark worked extensively on a wide range of economic and urban development issues, including surface transportation, aviation, port and waterfront revitalization, defense conversion, and brownfields cleanup. He also managed a successful, multi-year appropriations strategy that channeled millions of dollars for high-priority infrastructure projects into Philadelphia. Since joining CRD Associates, Mark has represented the interests of a diverse group of clients, including patient advocacy groups, institutions of higher education, port authorities, state agencies, hospitals, publishing companies and international non-profit organizations. Mark has also developed a specialty in creating, organizing, and guiding coalitions of like-minded organizations. He has helped clients secure federal funding, build new partnerships with federal agencies and mobilize grassroots to advocate for legislation pending in Congress. He also has developed a niche in helping clients who have never interacted with Congress and federal agencies launch sophisticated and focused federal government relations strategies.  Mark serves as president of the Pennsylvania Society of Washington, D.C.  He earned his B.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University.
