Kathryn G. Schubert, Vice President

 

Kathryn G. Schubert Image Kathryn G. Schubert leverages her experience on Capitol Hill and expertise in health policy to work with clients to prioritize their public policy goals and develop policy recommendations and legislative language to advance their objectives. From specialty medical societies to patient advocacy organizations and biotech companies, she has successfully helped organizations navigate the implementation of federal laws, including the Affordable Care Act and the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act. Monitoring and analyzing issues ranging from reimbursement policy to federal biomedical research and public health programs, she also works at the federal regulatory level to influence policy decisions that affect organizations and their constituencies. Prior to joining CRD Associates, Katie served in key staff roles in the U.S. House of Representatives, working with Congresswoman Nancy Johnson of Connecticut, who served as chair of the House Ways and Means Committee’s Subcommittee on Health, and later as legislative director for Congressman Wayne T. Gilchrest of Maryland, a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. In 2011, she co-authored a paper in Preventive Medicine exploring the impact of a classroom-based physical activity program and health-academic integration through existing state and federal policy and programming.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the John E. Lewy Foundation for Children’s Health.  Katie holds a Master of Public Policy degree with a concentration in health policy from The George Washington University and attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science.
