Domenic Ruscio, Partner

 

Domenic Ruscio Image Domenic Ruscio is a specialist in government relations and the legislative process. He lends his more than 40 years of public service and policy background to helping both new and established organizations achieve their public policy goals through well-reasoned strategic planning, compelling messages and a tactical approach to policy development. Among his achievements, Dom crafted a legislative strategy that led to the creation of a nationwide network of research centers; convinced lawmakers and Pentagon officials to expand health services to active duty service members and their families; and helped an industry leader preserve its market under the new health care reform law. He held top posts in both Congress and the executive branch, serving on the staff of the Senate Appropriations Committee, where he advised senators on funding for public health, education and employment training programs. He was subsequently appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, where he helped guide overall federal education policy and managed a $62 million annual budget. Upon creation of the Department of Education, he was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislation, serving as liaison to the congressional appropriations committees. Dom has been a featured speaker on the legislative and appropriations processes at numerous governmental, university, industry, and trade association conferences. Dom received his B.S. in Finance from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
