October 3, 2005

Cavarocchi Ruscio Dennis (CRD) Associates, LLC is pleased to announce that Brent Jaquet has joined the firm as Senior Vice President.

For the past seven years Mr. Jaquet served as senior appropriations aide to Rep. C.W. Bill Young (R-Florida), managing an extensive portfolio of appropriations, authorization, regulatory and policy issues during Rep. Young's tenure as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, and later as Chairman of its Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.

An experienced hand in the legislative arena, Mr. Jaquet developed expertise across a wide spectrum of issues, including biomedical research, education, social services, defense health activities, bioterrorism and agriculture. Along the way, he helped to forge federal policies affecting state and municipal agencies, industry and academic institutions.

"This has become a very complex and competitive process," Jaquet says. "And I feel certain that my first-hand experience and knowledge of the inner workings of government will be a valuable resource to the firm's clients."

Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, Mr. Jaquet was a senior management official at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where his experience included managing communications, science transfer, professional health education, and information technology programs. Before joining the agency, Mr. Jaquet worked in the Department of Health and Human Services developing communications programs in the areas of health planning, professions and facilities.

Mr. Jaquet attended graduate school in communications at the University of Maryland's College of Journalism in College Park following service in the Navy as a journalist. He earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina.

In July, the firm announced plans to grow its government relations and client services practice with the addition of Erika Miller, Esq. and Janet Schmautz. Ms. Miller, a former Capitol Hill aide, specializes in hospital and nursing home coverage issues, immigration policy and antitrust legislation. Ms. Schmautz, also a former Capitol Hill aide, was a fundraiser for the Republican National Committee, and previously served as confidential assistant to Kay Coles James, former head of the Office of Personnel Management.
